Teen Leadership (DCA and CIT)
APPLICATION REQUIRED, ALL APPLICATIONS DUE FEBRUARY 15, 2019
In Killoqua’s summer Leadership Programs, teens increase their skills and confidence as leaders, using the camp community as a supportive environment to take on new challenges. Sharpen your skills with children, learn to lead camp activities, and go behind the scenes to see what makes camp happen!
Day Camp Assistant (DCA), Grades 8-12
(Day Camp Program; DCA orientation is a resident camp program)
Do you like working with kids? Are you looking for a new challenge this summer? Check out our DCA program, where you will learn new leadership skills and get the chance to try them out with guidance from a trained staff member. DCAs are paired with a counselor and a group of campers. They assist with all aspects of the daily program and have a lot of fun along the way! DCA orientation for both new and returning DCAs is during resident camp session 2. If you are interested in this program, please read this information before applying!
An application is required for this program; participants must reapply each year.
Counselor-In-Training (CIT), Grades 11-12
(Resident Camp Program)
This is a valuable two-year program that trains its participants in lifelong leadership skills. If selected, you’ll create lasting friendships and memories as your group lives and learns together throughout your multi-week program.
CIT Year 1 (Sessions 5-7)
CIT Year 2 (Sessions 4-7)
CITs develop important skills for working with children and each other—teaching positive behavior and values, listening skills, reinforcing creativity and much more. In addition you will learn about child development and how to work with campers with specials needs. As a CIT you will get lots of hands on experience working directly with younger campers under the mentorship or our trained camp staff.
An application and references are required for this program; participants must reapply each year.
